Hirshland Optical has been in continuous operation since 1908 — now in its fourth generation of family ownership. What began at Freeman's Jewelers in Allentown, Pennsylvania has grown into one of the
region's most trusted names in prescription safety eyewear.
Long-time residents of the Lehigh Valley may remember us as Linden Optical or Linden Opticians, our name for decades at the corner of 9th and Linden Streets in Allentown. In the late 1980s we acquired Hirshland Optical in Reading, PA — and have operated under that name ever since. Later acquisitions include Robert Heinly Optical and Vision Safety Associates.
Today, our nearly 10,000 square foot facility in Orefield, PA houses our offices, full manufacturing operation, offices and warehousing. Every lens we produce is fine-tuned, assembled, and quality-tested right here.
